You bought a charging station after seeing an ad on a social media platform, and now you want to know how wireless charging works. How is it possible to charge a device without a cable? To help you understand how it works and how the device charges without any cables, I have created a guide.

In this guide, I have discussed all the workings of wireless charging and also discussed the phenomena involved in it. Let’s cover this topic step by step, which is easy for all of you to understand.

    What is Wireless Charging?

Wireless Charging is the charging of a device without the help of cables.

After reading the word wireless, you get some idea in your mind about what wireless charging is. Yes, you make the right guess. Like old charging, you need to charge an adapter and a cable, but now there is no need for cables to charge your device. This advanced charging system is named wireless charging. You simply put your device on a charging pad, and your device starts.

    How Wireless Charging Works?

Not done with the above explanation? Want to know more about the working of wireless charging?  You are at the right place. For your understanding, I explained its working thoroughly.

First, are you familiar with what is current? It is the rate of flow of electric charge. If you make the flow of electric charge possible through your device in any way, your device starts charging.

    Now, how wireless charging works?

It uses the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction to pass charges from the high to the low end. What is electromagnetic induction? It is the process of inducing a current in a coil using a magnetic field.

The wireless charging station or pad contains a coil of wires(A) through which AC current passes, thus creating a fluctuating magnetic field around the coil. Your device also has a coil of wires(B). When you put your device on the charging pad, coil B comes in contact with the fluctuating magnetic field of coil A. This induces current in coil B. This induced current in coil B is then converted into DC current to charge your device battery. This is the complete working of wireless charging.

Are you tired of plugging and unplugging cables repeatedly? Wireless charging allows you to simply place your device on a charging pad or station to charge it.

    2. Cable Free Charging

Your cabels break and stop working after some time. Looking for an alternative? You can go for it. Because there is no need for cables to charge a device.

    3. Multiple Device Compatibility

You want to charge multiple devices with a single charger? The solution is wireless charging. Its device-compatibility feature allows you to charge many devices with a single charger.

    4. Smart Charging

The battery health of your device is important for its performance. It may get affected due to overcharging. The smart charging feature helps prevent overcharging your device. It also have built in temperature control which stops chargeing when your device gets hot.

    5. Safe to Use

There might be a chance you get an electric shock while plugging or unplugging. This problem can be solved by using wireless charging. It is easy to use, and you just need to place your device on the charging station.

    Final Thoughts

Wireless charging is no longer a myth nowadays. Many devices on the market now come with built-in wireless charging support. It works using the principle of electromagnetic induction, allowing you to power your gadgets without plugging in a cable.

However, some people may still feel confused about how it actually works. This guide explains the process in simple terms so you can understand it clearly.
